Update on the body found in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Miss (WCBI)- We have an update on the crime investigation out of Monroe County that we first brought you Friday.

Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a body behind a home on Buck Road.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell told us his deputies located a vehicle belonging to one of the homeowners.

Cantrell says his office is in contact with the woman.

They are asking that she turn herself into law enforcement.

Investigators have been working the scene at the home.

The body has been recovered from the backyard of a home that belonged a man recently reported as a missing person.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Monroe co coroner Alan Gurley has transported the body to Pearl for an autopsy.
