UPDATE: Columbus Armed Robbery Suspects Description

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus Police are investigating a suspected armed robbery that happened late yesterday afternoon, September 19.

It happened in the 1800 block of 10th avenue north.

The victim, a 57 year old woman, told police she had left the Genesis Church when she was waved down and asked for a ride by two black men.

According to City Spokesman Joe Dillon, the two men then pulled a handgun and demanded money.

 

The victim eventually stopped the car on 10th Avenue North and gained the attention of Columbus Firefighters by honking her horn and getting out of the vehicle.

After the firemen radioed the incident, both suspects ran toward Sim Scott Park.

Police scoured the area, while firemen tended to the victim.

No one was hurt according to Columbus Police.

The suspects are described as two young black males, wearing blue jeans and combat boots at the time of the alleged crime.
