Update on the Rescued Pit Bulls Used For Fighting
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The pit bulls rescued from a fighting ring last week in Monroe County are recuperating.
Fourteen adult dogs and two puppies are currently being sheltered at the sheriff’s department waiting to be evaluated.
They were found in deplorable conditions on a property off of Old Wren Road, after a concerned citizen reported the dogs were being used to fight.
Their former owner, Fredrick Randle, remains on the run tonight and is wanted on several charges.
Sheriff Cecil Cantrell seized the dogs under the county’s aggravated dog ordinance.
Cantrell warns anyone helping Randle hide will also face charges.
