LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Folks in Winston County honored vets at the 9th Annual stew stomp event in honor of Veterans day.
The downtown streets were filled as the community came out to enjoy the Veteran’s Day Parade and program.
The smells of stews, gumbos and soups filled the air as children sung patriotic tunes.
Competitions were held for People’s choice in stew, Judge’s choice in stew and even sweet tea.
Residents from all over came out to support their community, friends, and family members.
“This is really a nice event to honor out veterans and for Winston County. Our Chamber of Commerce has done such a good job putting everything together, it’s been a fun day so far,” said festival goer Julie Cunningham.
The event and competitions were open to the public for anyone that wanted to part of the activities.
