COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI) – Four faith communities come together in Columbus to offer what they say is a family friendly celebration of Halloween.

This evening, in downtown, College Street from Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church Down to Annunciation Catholic Church was closed to traffic.

Trick or Treaters took to the streets for candy, food, family fun, and games.

It was the annual Fall Festival.

The Fall Festival is hosted by Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, and Annunciation Catholic Church.

The churches began collecting candy more than a month ago in preparation for Sunday.

All the candy, food, and games were free and open to the public.

“Just four years ago, all the different faith communities around just got together and we started looking at how we could just entertain in a safe environment in our community and just everybody dressing up having a great time visiting,”Annunciation Catholic Church said Father Jeffrey Waldrep.

“Well it’s a great thing for our community to come together, for the churches to do, to work together, to provide. it’s a safe environment. it’s fun. it creates a lot of excitement in the community when we offer events like this,”said First United Methodist Church Pastor Jimmy Criddle.

Annunciation Catholic Church started Fall Festival 15-years ago. The collaboration between the other churches began 4-years ago in 2014.
