COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-It all ended with an email. Cracker Barrel is not coming to Columbus – at least not in the near future. The people known for good down home food and a general store atmosphere had sent a letter of intent to purchase property on 18th street north next to Smith Landscaping. But the next step – a signed contract – hasn’t come through. Now, the project has been put on hold. Consultants for the Cracker Barrel are quoted as saying, “…They believe the Columbus location requires additional study.” They apparently informed the local realtor handling the proposed land sale of Cracker Barrel’s change of heart via email. The chain is located along heavily traveled thoroughfares in more than 40 states.

Requires additional study of what?? Surely, they had the demographic information before Columbus was even considered… Find out what really happened…. Their reason that they believe additional study is required is not the reason. I wanna know who Cracker Barrel talked to before sending the declination email to the Realtor. More study is not the reason.
