ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s Christmas in July for Aberdeen. The city used grant money to purchase four new Utility Task Vehicles. The price tag for all four was a little more than $55,000.00

Two of the UTVs will be go to Aberdeen’s street department. The sanitation department will get the other two. Mayor Cecil Belle says they’ll be useful new tools for the city.

“We have old vehicles and we feel that we’ll be able to save on fuel. We’ll be able to do what we need to do in our streets for having these UTVs. So we’re gonna try them out, and I think they’ll work. When they cut grass in one area, they can pull a trailer with a lawn mower and wouldn’t have to have a truck out there. So they’ll use them for that.”

The USDA provided the grant money.
