UNDATED, Ala. (WCBI)-While most of the country is battling for more gun restrictions Alabama is working to ease theirs.

Yesterday, the Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill that would workers to keep guns locked in their vehicles while at their jobs and allow people to get a free lifetime permit to keep pistols in their vehicles at all times.

It also provides that carrying a visible, holstered pistol would not be considered disorderly conduct.

People would be able to buy five year permits on their pistols instead of one and it would do away with a sheriff being able to sit on a request for a pistol permit.
