Video: Area Law Enforcement Officers Participate in 2015 Torch Run

NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) -Area Police Officers are all Fired Up for Special Olympics.

This morning, the Columbus Police Department took to the streets in the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

They carried the torch from City Hall to Police Headquarters along with area residents and Special Olympians.

Starkville Police joined in as well. They ran started at Rick’s continued to Henderson Elementary School.

Both departments sold t-shirts to raise money for Special Olympics.

Mississippi’s Summer Games begin this weekend at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi.
Police officers from Aberdeen and Columbus Air Force Base also joined in the Special Olympics tradition .

They kicked off this morning’s observances taking the torch through Downtown Aberdeen and across the base.
