Video: An Area Organization Gives Back to its Community

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – An area organization is giving back to its community in a big way.

The Junior Auxiliary of Starkville donated nearly seven-thousand dollars to the T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability located on the Mississippi State campus.

The donation is a part of JA’s commitment to the Center’s Project Impact focusing on infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with developmental delays.

To date, they have contributed over thirty-thousand dollars to the Center.

Many JA members also volunteer at the T.K. Martin Center on a regular basis.

“It’s a hidden gem we feel like in our community and that a lot of people do not know about, that it’s a school that is geared towards those with special needs and again, it may be on the Mississippi State campus, but all of the funding does not come through the university. So, they rely on donations from other organizations too,” says JA member, Missy Walters.

The money was raised through the the group’s Kentucky Derby Silent Auction.
