COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –Dozens of women, all decked out in red, got heart lessons over lunch Friday. Baptist Golden Triangle hosted its annual “Go Red For Women” luncheon. The National Heart Month event helps to raise awareness about heart disease among women. In addition to learning tips to keep their hearts healthy, attendees got an inspirational message on the importance of their emotional well-being from speaker Rita Sweatt.

In the United States, one in four women dies as a result of heart disease.
