Verona, Miss. (WCBI) – A Verona couple is behind bars after a traffic stop turns up felony amounts of methamphetamine and other drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Twenty nine year old Isaiah Edgar and 32 year old Stephanie Dykes were stopped by Lee County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday evening in Mooreville for a traffic violation.

A search of their car turned up two bags of meth, a meth pipe, a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and other paraphernalia.

Both Edgar and Dykes are currently on bond for unrelated charges, in fact they were arrested several months ago in connection with a string of burglaries in the area.

Sheriff Jim Johnson says that the couple will have to choose a different path in life in order to stay from behind bars.

“It’s sad to say, this young lady here is on probation, pregnant, it’s just a bad situation for both of them but at some point in time they’re going to have to learn their lesson and choose another form of occupation in life if they’re going to live around here,” said Johnson.

Bond for Dykes and Edgar was set at 25 thousand dollars each.
