VIDEO: Caledonia City Leaders Sworn In

CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI)-A big crowd was on hand at the Caledonia Town Hall on Thursday as city leaders took their oaths of office to begin a new term.

On Wednesday, Mitch Wiggins defeated incumbent Bill Lawrence by one vote to become the newly elected mayor of the small town.

He’ll be joined by three newly elected aldermen.

After all of the controversy surrounding the mayoral race, city leaders said they’re ready to put everything behind them and get down to business.

“We’re just glad it’s over,” said Matt Furnari, one of the three newly elected officials. “Of course, you know this is the second election but I think everybody is happy. The town spoke and we got it right and now we’re going to move forward. Just kind of relieved, excited and ready to get going.”

Shortly after the swearing in ceremony, the new administration held its first meeting.
