NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Northeast Mississippi children and their parents try their hand at fishing in New Albany.
The 32nd annual Connie Davis fishing rodeo was held at Camp Armstrong for children ages 6 to 12.
Children and their parents enjoy fishing, games and free prizes for all the kids for the best and biggest fish.
One event organizer says the event teaches the children more than to catch a fish.
“They see that perseverance pays off if they continue to stay on task for the duration of the time is allotted,” says Cliff Pannell.
The event was created in honor of Connie Davis who was Mississippi’s first game warden.
