COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A truck flips on a busy Columbus street but both drivers escape serious injury.

Witnesses say around 10:40 Monday (1/25) morning a Lowndes County animal control officer was southbound crossing Main Street at 10th Street when he apparently didn’t see a Mercury Cougar that was eastbound on Main.

The Cougar struck the pickup in the side, flipping it on its side.

The animal control officer managed to crawl from his truck and was only shaken up.

The driver of the Cougar was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital for treatment.
