VIDEO: Changes Being Made To Trotter Convention Center

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Columbus will make changes on how the Trotter Convention Center is rented after Thursday’s deadly shooting.

In a statement, city spokesman Joe Dillon said the city is looking at details before the shooting.

Mayor Robert Smith will meet with city department heads to come up with a plan and make necessary changes.

Some of those changes could involve earlier closing times for events that have alcohol.

Four Columbus police officers and two private security personnel were at the Trotter at the time of the shooting.

Cordell Lewis, 27, was shot outside the Trotter, where nearly nearly 500 people paid to go to a party.

No arrests have been made in the homicide.
