VIDEO: Church Welcomes New Senior Pastor After 2.5 Years

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-  After more than almost two and a half years one of Northeast Mississippi’s biggest church finally has a new senior pastor.

Tupelo Harrisburg Baptist Church says it took a long time to find the right man for the job, and today Rob Armstrong officially accepted the call of the church to fill that role. Armstrong has strong Mississippi roots, having grown up in the Jackson area. He returns to the Magnolia State after serving as pastor of a Church in Dayton Tennessee.

“Well my hope is just to be a faithful pastor here. And to see Harrisburg continue to be a faithful church. And we will see what God does. It’s all in his hands. Paul wrote and said the one who plants and the one who waters isn’t anything at all. I think as pastors we should cling to that because right after he says it’s God that gives the growth. So whatever happens at any Church belongs to the Lord. It’s his. So we want to preach the gospel faithfully here and continue to make disciples and let God do here what he wants to do here,” says Armstrong.

You can catch the Sunday morning services at Harrisburg on our sister station MyMississippi at noon on Sundays.
