Video: City and county leaders give go ahead for industrial park

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-  Leaders in Oktibbeha County have decided to go forward by issuing two $7 million bond to pay for an industrial park.

The land near Highway 82 and Highway 389 is where leaders say the industrial park will go.

A special meeting was called Thursday to decide whether or not to issue the two bonds.

After a nearly two hour discussion with city and county leaders, the bonds were issued meaning work can start on the project.

“I’m excited. I think that the Link is going to do a great job. I think the county and the city partnering for things is very important and shows everyone that we are in it together. We believe in moving forward and we believe in progress,” said Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill.

If all goes well, Mayor Spruill says they can begin after October.
