Video: Columbus Unveils New Downtown Mural

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- You’ve probably noticed the new art work at the Magnolia Bowl as you enter downtown Columbus. Wednesday the artists, Columbus Main Street and city officials met for the unveiling of the new mural.

A dozen volunteers spent 30 days on the painting that depicts many of the things Columbus has to offer.

Things like the Columbus river walk, downtown shopping and dining are all displayed on the wall painting.

Columbus artist Penny Bowen designed the mural.

“I’m thrilled on many levels that it’s done, because it was a lot of work, but I’m also very proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said Bowen.

There are no immediate plans for another mural, but Bowen says she hopes to see more artwork in the future.
