Video: Columbus Business Owner Complies With City’s Requests

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-After disputing with city officials for nearly the entire day on Wednesday, a Columbus business owner is finally complying with the city’s demands and will close his business early.

Sam Mutee Nati, The owner of The OK Foods Convenience Store, met with mayor Robert Smith and city officials on Wednesday morning to address this issue.

In his agreement with the city, Mutee Natit stated that he’s going to install 24 hour surveillance cameras inside and outside of the store.

He also agreed to put an end to the loitering surrounding the business, and to contact the police department if loitering and suspicious activity takes place.

Mayor smith urged the owner to close down the store at 5 P.M. everyday. The two sides initially went back and forth on the matter, but finally came to an agreement on the decision.

However, Mutee Nati stated that he’d like to revisit the possible option of him extending his hours in the future depending on how much progress has been made.
