Video: Columbus High School Still Looking for Basketball Coach

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –Columbus High School is still looking for a new boys’ basketball coach, following their first state championship season.

Gentry High boys basketball coach Chico Potts has declined the offer from Columbus High to be their new head coach, after new factors arose, according to WXVT.

Potts was approved last week for the job by the Columbus Municipal School District Board of Trustees board after former head coach Luther Riley didn’t have his contract renewed.

Potts had been working as a consultant in recent weeks at Columbus.

It’s unclear who Columbus will turn to next in their search, and Superintendent Dr. Phillip Hickman says he’s unsure who their next option is.
