Video: Columbus Officer Helps Rescue Fawn

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Oh “deer.” What can the matter be?

A Columbus police officer rescues a fawn, trapped in a net fence at the soccer complex, Friday.

Local photographer Paul Quick caught it all on video, while practicing with his drone.

Quick tells WCBI he spotted a mother deer watching over her fawn, which was caught in the net.

Quick then called 911 for animal control.

CPD Officer Jared Booth arrived first, gently helping the young deer get out of the net, with an animal control officer’s help.

The fawn seemed OK, and ran off into the woods.
