VIDEO: Columbus Police Department Evaluation To Be Presented Tuesday

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – In a little less than 24 hours, we will know the results of a police consultant’s evaluation of the Columbus police department.

Right now, no one knows what it will say or how the recommendations will play out.

Dr. KB Turner will present his findings to councilmen at tomorrow’s meeting.

He’s held community meetings to get feedback from residents.

Officers and city leaders also talked with Turner about the department, some even made suggestions.

There have also been job fairs, officers hired, and a CPD volunteer interest group meeting since Turner started his evaluation in January.

Councilmen will go into executive session to discuss some of the report, per Turner’s request.

However, that doesn’t mean councilmen will have to take any action.

Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 3:00 PM.
