Video: Comedy show hosted for hurricane benefit

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- It was time for some serious laughs at the Princess Theater in downtown Columbus Monday.

“Two Girls one Truck” held a comedy night to raise money and collect supplies for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The group is trying to fill the truck with women’s hygiene products and toiletries. Columbus was the 5th stop on the tour. They close in Dallas Tuesday night.

Comedian Charlie Hester says after seeing the devastation they wanted to their part in giving back.

“We saw Hurricane Harvey and the devastation it was causing. Like Maggie said, we knew we wanted to do more. So I decided that this would be a great time to go around and collect pads and tampons and diapers and wipes and help people with items that need to be donated,” said Hester.

They’re also taking cash donations at www.gofundme.com/two-girls-one-truck.
