VIDEO: Community Comes Together For Missing Teen

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- It’s been around a month since the disappearance of Booneville teen, Angelica Dykes.

Police still have no leads as to what may have happened, but are looking for any information.

Today, friends and family met at the Booneville city hall for a prayer service.

A meeting to keep hope alive.

“We just had this prayer service to try to get her home safe or see if anybody knows anything about where she’s at,” says Dykes’ father.

It’s been around a month since the disappearance of 17-year old Angelica Dykes, and even now friends and family are still in shock.

“You think that this don’t happen in a small town like Booneville, but it’s happening every day. It’s hit hard in this family. You know, we just want people to be more cautious of their children,” says family friend Betty Wood.

In this time, the family was surprised to see such a turnout.

“I’m overwhelmed, you know, I knew people loved her, you know; everybody loves her. I didn’t know the community would come together like it did,” says Dykes’ father.

Though searches have come up empty, those that know Dykes believe that she would be the one to come out of this okay.

“I’m hopeful. I’m very hopeful. You know, even we haven’t heard any of the leads have panned out. I’m still hopeful,” says Dykes’ father.

If there’s one thing they would like to share with Angelica…

“Everybody loves you, and we want you home,” says Dykes’ father.
