STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The development of the $40 million Cotton Mill Project is officially underway. A host of local and state dignitaries were on hand for today’s ground breaking ceremony in Starkville. The renovation of the old Cooley building is the result of both private investments and public funding.

Once complete, the facility will offer a state of the art conference center and offices. Developer Mark Castleberry also has plans to build a large parking garage and an adjacent hotel.

Mississippi State University purchased the land back in 1965.
