Video: Crawford Officials Hold Swearing-In Ceremony

CRAWFORD, Miss. (WCBI) –The town of Crawford is officially ready to get down to business.

The mayor and board of aldermen took their oaths of office tonight at a special ceremony.

They also took some time out to honor the outgoing Mayor. A pavilion behind the City Hall has been named in honor of Fred Tolon.

New mayor Willie Dean Parson is ready to continue her predecessor’s success.

“It’s a happy feeling. I’ve been on the aldermen for 12 years and I really enjoy what I’m doing. I’ve been vice mayor for 4 years with Mayor Tolon so he got me really prepared for this day.”

One of Mayor Parson’s first duties will be to preside over the town’s Annual Crawford Day Thursday July 6th.
