VIDEO: A Day All About Safety

CHICKASAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Fifth graders in Chickasaw County get a lesson in safety.

More than 200 students from Houston, Houlka, and Okolona came out to the Chickasaw Agri-Center for the annual Progressive Safety Day.

The Chickasaw County Extension Office helps with the event.

Students visited stations with tips on topics like, identifying snakes and practicing ATV safety.

“We cover ten different areas with them today, that they can take home and learn from, or they can share with their parents, or their siblings. We want them to share and let everybody know what they learned today,” says Chickasaw County Extension Coordinator, Scott Cagle.

The grand finale featured a helicopter landing, showing children how they respond to the critically injured.

This is the 14th year for the safety day training.
