TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A popular restaurant in Tupelo is being demolished more than three months after being heavily damaged in the April tornado.

Crews are preparing Vanelli’s for demolition as owner Voz Vanelli is settling insurance claims and other matters related to the April 28 tornado.

Vanelli has said that he plans to return to the restaurant business in some form, but has not made a decision on how or in what form.

An undamaged outdoor pavilion will be donated to Tupelo, and will eventually be moved to Veterans Park.

The restaurant’s website has been running a survey asking people where the popular eatery should rebuild and what items customers would like to see on the new menu.
