BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI) — A group in Northeast Mississippi is combining hunting and ministry to reach out to disabled youth.

Hope Outdoors is a non-profit Christian Ministry that partners with churches and other organizations across the U.S. to offer children with disabilities and illnesses a chance to explore the great outdoors.

Several volunteers in the Bruce community gave five lucky children a shot at turkey hunting.

The Director of the Northeast Mississippi organization believes anyone can hunt no matter their disability.

“We want them to see that hunters and the guys to see nothing is impossible getting these kids out here in the outdoors,” says Josh Morgan.

“It’s impossible for me to hold up my shot gun because it’s a little too heavy for me. So the guy my dad works with he had this made for me,” says Noah Walters.

This is the first hunting event. To find out how to be a part of the next event, log onto hopeoutdoors.org.
