Video: District One Voters Ready for Special Election

NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) -First Congressional District voters will be at the polls in less than 24 hours.

13 people are running to replace the late Alan Nunnelee, who died of brain cancer earlier this year.

The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of Nunnelee’s term.

12 candidates are registered as Republican.

Lowndes County voters will also decide a 44 million dollar school bond issue.

If passed, the bond will include a new New Hope High School, vo-tech center and upgrades to other campuses.

Polls will open from 7 AM to 7 PM
