VIDEO: “Drone 101” To Help Ensure Safety
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Drones are the hottest high flying gadgets on the market but using them the wrong way can be tragic.
The Golden Triangle Regional Airport, with help from the Columbus Air Force base, hosted a “Drone 101” seminar Monday night.
Organizers said they are drone enthusiasts, if drones are used the correct way.
The conflict comes because military and commercial traffic around Lowndes County is heavy and at low altitude.
“…Last Christmas alone, over a million drones were sold so our goal and the FAA’s goal is to get those people educated…”, said GTR Airport Executive Director Mike Hainsey, “…help them get educated on where the main aircraft are flying so they can integrate into the airspace system safely.”
