Video: East Mississippi Electric Power Association Honored for Post-Storm Efforts

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – They were faced with a daunting task, and they handled it in record time.Wednesday, the men and women of the East Mississippi Electric Power Association got some official recognition. The Power Association is being honored for their quick response in getting power restored after the April 28th Tornadoes that tore through their service area.

Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley personally presented a proclamation signed by the entire commission this afternoon, and he commended them for their efforts.

“Make sure the workers that are out there in the weather and working long hours know that the State appreciates them for getting a vital service like electricity back on after a tornado hits. It’s the first sign to a community that things are going to get back to normal,” said Presley.

East Mississippi serves much of Winston County and parts of Attalla and Kemper Counties.
