Tupelo, MS (WCBI)–Tupelo area residents were able to enjoy a hearty lunch while helping the local Boys and Girls Club. The bi-annual Burger Bash benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi took place in downtown Tupelo.
The event was rescheduled from last week because of bad weather, and sunny skies brought out the hungry lunchtime crowd. For eight bucks, folks got a grilled, Angus beef burger with chips, cookie and a drink. Organizers say they are confident the event will raise a lot of money so the clubs can continue their mission.
“I’m thinking big today, with tips and all I’m figuring we can make about 6 thousand dollars here today we’ve already had some people who have come by and dropped off donations and asked us to pass the burger along to somebody in need and we’ve done that today so there are so many people willing to give back to the community in so many ways today, including Boys and Girls Clubs and other ways too.”
A burger bash benefiting the New Albany club takes place Friday.
