Video: EMCC educator receives Government Excellence Award

MAYHEW, Miss. (WCBI)- An exciting day for the EMCC Vice President for Workforce and Community Services.

Governor Phil Bryant awarded Dr. Raj Shaunak with the 2017 Excellence in Local and District Government Award. Tuesday at the Golden Triangle Campus, a surprise award presentation took place to commend Dr. Shaunak on this prestigious award.

Humbly, Dr. Shaunak says he’s just doing his job.

“Having achieved my own American dream, it’s a great pleasure to be able to help others and to see if they can move from dependents, to enterprise and earn family sustaining wages, that can help their families grow both economically and socially,” said Dr. Shaunak.

Dr. Shaunak was one of two people to receive the award of excellence.
