Video: EMCC Enrollment Increase

MAYHEW, Miss.(WCBI)—The EMCC electrical and automation programs are in high demand.

Enrollment numbers for those programs are at an all-time high.

This year the program altered it’s entry requirements. Students are required to take the ACT and have a career readiness certificate.

EMCC Technology Instructor Joanna Alfrod says their numbers are up because of the program’s reputation.

” I think words out in the community that we have a lot of good stuff to offer here at EMCC and I think that word of mouth has definitely helped us. They are seeing that our students are going to work making Livable wages and with our new industries in the golden triangle area they can stay right here at home and make a living,”said Alford.

Students must receive a 16 on the ACT to be admitted to the program.
