NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) Families came to enjoy the great outdoors at the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge today.
Free canoeing was available on scenic Bluff Lake, home to wildlife and natural rock structures. Canoes and kayaks were launched at 9 this morning and rides continued throughout the afternoon.
“I wanted to help give back to the refuge because it’s one of my favorite places to come after finals. It’s so peaceful and quiet and you can just really get back in nature and relax,” said Savannah Smith, a student volunteer.
The refuge is also available during the year for hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
