VIDEO: Fire Chief Conference In Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Over a hundred fire chiefs from across the state gather in Starkville for the 81st Mid-Winter Fire Chiefs Conference.

The goal is to connect with other departments, creating relationships and problem solutions.

The conference is rarely held outside of Jackson, but Starkville F.D. made what was said to be very effective presentation.

“So this is really the first time it’s been away from the capital in quite some time, and the people of Starkville can thank their fire chief, Charles Yarbrough, for that,” says President of the Mississippi Fire Chiefs Association, Chief Michael Beyerstedt.

“It’s been a long process, about a year process, getting this taken care of, and it can kind of all come to fruition today. The biggest thing here is networking. We get a chance to network with all of the chiefs across the state, and we can talk about the problems we have. If I have a problem, they may know about a solution to it and vice versa,” says Chief Charles Yarbrough of the Starkville Fire Department.

The conference continues to Friday.
