TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) –

Fire chiefs from across the state are networking and learning about the latest technology and innovations in fire fighting. Tupelo is playing host to over 200 chiefs and firefighters from the Mississippi Fire Chiefs Association at the Bancorpsouth Arena.

They will have sessions dealing with topics such as, losing a first responder in the line of duty, post traumatic stress disorder, mass casualty and many other issues.

Participants say it’s a great way to hear from other experts and see the latest equipment and technology in a vendor area.

“We can come together, bounce ideas off one another, network , fellowship and just be able to talk about things going on in individual communities and departments and how we can take those ideas back to better serve the citizens we are sworn to protect.”

The conference features a firefighter relay Saturday at 2 in the west parking lot of the Bancorpsouth Arena.
