Video: First ‘Down On Main’ Concert For 2016 Draws Big Crowd

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – The Nashville based group, “Daphne and the Mystery Machine”  was part of the lineup at the annual “Down on Main” free concert series at Tupelo’s Fairpark.

Hundreds showed up for the free concert, despite warm weather. There were food vendors, cold beverages and of course, the fountain at Fairpark.

This is the seventh season for the “Down on Main” concert series, which has a host of sponsors to make the event possible for the public.

“It really is awesome, you know, every race, there’s a lot of diversity out here, we bring a lot of different people and it’s just a way to get out of the house, a free event, listen to some good music, it may not be your favorite band, but it opens up your mind to hear something new that maybe you wouldn’t hear normally in Tupelo and that’s what we’re trying to do,” said event chairman Jesse Bandre’.

The “Down on Main ” concert series takes place the third Thursday in August and September. For more information, go to www.tupelomainstreet.com
