Eupora, Miss. –  (WCBI) Starkville firefighter and outdoor hunter Rob “Bobcat” Robinson had no idea sacrificing a kidney for a friend would be so rewarding to just about everyone.

“I got him involved in hunting, now that we’re so close together he had never hunted before. We went up to Nebraska and he killed his first turkey up there,” said Robinson.

Realizing the benefits and rewards of organ donations, this dynamic duo have formed a non profit organization. In collaborating with O-Servs of Oktibbeha County through their Vista Veterans Project, Robinson and Gillan Alexander of Nicodemus, Kansas are planning a muzzle loader deer hunt especially for five military veterans injured in combat.

“I mean it costs a lot of money top go to Kansas to hunt; I’ve been hunting for years and its just, I mean it would be $5,000 for somebody. And these guys don’t have that kind of money. And I’m just trying to provide it,” said Robinson.

“And we gonna work with kids and veterans and you know it, and everything we do we going to promote organ donation. That’s what brought me and Gill together,” added Robinson.

It looks like an act of kindness shown to a stranger continues touching lives, of people like brothers Clint and Cliff Norwood of Houston, Timothy Pearson of Winona, Matt Davis of Houston, and Brad Beard of Vicksburg. Because of a union of two people….many are impacted.

“He is my brother. He never came to Mississippi before. He came down for Super Bulldog Weekend and he has a lot of different attitudes about the south now

The muzzle loader deer hunting trip is set for September 14-20.. Donations may be made to: OSERVS, 100 Highway 12 East, Starkville, Ms 39759.
