Video: Grant Money may Help Pay for New Fire Truck in Monroe County

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Fire protection in Monroe County is getting a boost with a little help from the State.

Supervisors approve a measure to buy a new fire truck to serve the Bartahatchie Community.

The county applied for a grant from the Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Assistance Program run by the State Insurance Commission.

That grant could pay up to $70,000.00  of the $208,000.00 tab for the truck.

Monroe County staffs 13 volunteer fire stations.
