HOULKA, Miss. (WCBI) — One local organization is making sure everyone is fed on this Thanksgiving holiday.

The Helping Hands of Houlka hosted their 7th annual community Thanksgiving fest for area residents.

The meal was served from 11 to 1, it was free and open to the public.

Those who came enjoyed turkey and dressing, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler and much more.

Organizers say this is just another way to help those in the community.

” It is very thankful. A lot of enjoyment to be able to do this and to bring people out together to eat and to help the people in need. There’s a lot of people in our community who doesn’t have things to eat, so this is very enjoyable for us to do,” said Scottie Buchanan, with Helping Hands.

Helping Hands volunteers say they can always use help with their annual Thanksgiving meal.
They welcome any and all dishes from participants.
