MANTEE, Miss—There’s a new historic site in Mantee.
On Saturday, the town held a ribbon cutting and grand opening for it’s newly renovated train depot. Originally built in 1910 the depot had been sitting on private proper for more than a decade before being relocated close to its’ original location. The depot will now be home to a museum and City Hall. The town’s mayor says this renovation is just a small part of a much larger plan town officials have for Mantee. The depot renovations were paid in part by a grant from MDOT and took four years to complete.
