Video: Houston Fire hosts cadet academy

HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI)- Kids in Chickasaw County spent most the week learning all about what it takes to be a firefighter.

The Houston Fire Department says nearly 30 kids signed up for this weeks Fire Academy. Kids got to check out helicopters and go through a smoke house.

“I think this is an awesome program and I wish more kids could attend and would attend. Like I said, a lot of good lessons,” said parent Alisa Fant.

In a closing ceremony Friday, each kid was recognized as a new cadet.
