Video: Inmate with Local Ties Dies in State Prison

LEXINGTON, Miss. (WCBI) — A state inmate sentenced in Monroe County dies in the Holmes-Humphreys Regional Jail.

Officers found Reggie Lee Jones, Jr. unresponsive on his bunk Wednesday morning, while conducting a count.

He was pronounced dead of natural causes at a Lexington hospital.

Jones turned 33 Wednesday, and was serving time for sexual battery.

He was sentenced in Monroe County in November 2013.
