Video: ‘League Of The South’ President Explains Reasons For ‘Counter Demonstration’ July 30th

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – The leader of a southern nationalist organization says his group will file a permit for a counter demonstration on July 30th in Tupelo.

Alabama based League of the South will also hold a rally in Tupelo, to coincide with the “Stand Up Tupelo” March.

League of the South President Michael Hill says he became aware of the situation in Tupelo after Shumpert family attorney Carlos Moore demanded the Mississippi flag be removed from city offices.

Doctor Hill says his group will rally in support of the state flag, and southern heritage.

“We also want to show support for the city of Tupelo and the rule of law because we’ve also heard that there have been some threats to make Tupelo into another Ferguson Missouri and we certainly don’t want to see that and we will be out monitoring, whose doing what,” Hill said.

Doctor Hill isn’t sure where the “League of the South’s” rally will be located.
