Video: Lee County School Board Recognizes Gold and Silver Medalists

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lee County School District recognized the hard work of a special group of athletes during Tuesday’s school board meeting.

Athletes who competed in the local Special Olympics games brought home the gold and silver during the March event.

Eight of them also qualified for the State Special Olympics Games in Biloxi in May.

Those athletes won ten gold and three silver medals.

Parent volunteers, fundraising sponsors and others were also recognized at the meeting.
