TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A local attorney and his wife are promoting critical thinking and moral growth through a unique contest.

Attorney Kenneth Mayfield and his wife are encouraging students throughout the community to further their education through their two-thousand dollar scholarship award.

It’s part of an annual essay contest sponsored by the Mayfield Law Firm. This year, the essay topic is “Do you believe that public prayer should be allowed in our schools?”

Winners will be announced during the annual Mayfield Law Firm Charity Ball .

“We would like the public to come out and support these young people they are right here at that point in their life where they need that push, they need that encouragement so we are asking you to support the Mayfield Scholarship fund, come out to the event and I promise you you will enjoy yourselves,” said sponsor Eloise Mayfield.
