Video: Local Celebrities Don Aprons For Annual St Jude Fundraiser At Harvey’s

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – It was an evening of great food, served up by some local celebrities at a popular Tupelo restaurant, for a fantastic cause.

The annual ” St Jude Celebrity Wait Night” took place at Harvey’s Restaurant in Tupelo.  Celebrities such as Mayor Jason Shelton,  Fire Chief Thomas Walker,  Melanie Deas,  Dennis Nolan, Police Officer Michael Russell,  WCBI’s Allie Martin,  Rashni Barath, Sam Farris, Tara Nolan Moody and Marcus Gary,  donned aprons and took orders as part of the fundraiser.

All tips during the event go to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help kids like Tupelo’s Jorden Daniel, who is also Allie’s nephew.

Everyone involved said there are many reasons to support St Jude.

“The children deserve this, they go through so much and the families need our support, this hospital is a research hospital, that would be the main reason I think,” Moody said.

“Eat with Us always wants to support our community, we just want to help the children,” said Amy Thomas, of “Eat With Us.”

Waiters and waitresses at Harvey’s donated their time this evening for the fundraiser.  There were also auction items, such as an autographed football by Dak Prescott.
